Femme Fatale Certified Platinum
Britney Spears Reaches Platinum Status With Femme Fatale
Her U.S. Albums Certifications Now Total 32 Million
Ticket Sales For Femme Fatale Tour Begin On April 30th
New York, NY - Pop superstar Britney Spears achieves another benchmark with her current album, Femme Fatale. This week, Spears' seventh album - which spawned the No. 1 hit "Hold It Against Me" and the Top 5 smash "Till The World Ends" - is certified platinum by the RIAA. This latest news brings Britney's U.S. albums certifications to the 32 million sales mark.
The certification comes as tickets for her highly anticipated all female Femme Fatale Tour with special guest Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys and Nervo go on sale April 30th. The tour kicks off on June 16th in Sacramento.
Spears' impressive reach goes beyond the U.S. as fans world wide are embracing her latest project. Femme Fatale has also achieved platinum status in Canada and is gold-certified in the UK, France, Mexico, Czech Republic, Brazil, Korea & Singapore. The current single, "Till The World Ends" is in the Top 10 on iTunes charts in Canada, Mexico, Australia, France, Spain and Denmark and the song ranks in the Top 20 on radio airplay charts across Europe.
With the release of the critically-acclaimed Femme Fatale, Britney has earned more distinctions and set new records: she is the only woman to have six albums debut at No.1 on the Billboard 200 albums chart; she and Mariah Carey are the only artists to debut at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart with more than one song; Britney's one of only seven artists- and just three women- with Hot 100 No. 1's in three decades; Femme Fatale is one of the Top 10 longest running trending topics on Twitter.

"Till The World Ends" Chart Update
Can another diva-infused remix rush up the Billboard Hot 100 next week? That's what fans of Britney Spears are probably hoping.
On Monday (Apr. 25), Spears released the "Femme Fatale" remix of "Till the World Ends" (featuring Nicki Minaj and Ke$ha) to digital retailers -- just two weeks after the singer made headlines by guest-starring on the so-called "Rih-mix" of Rihanna's "S&M." The latter soared to No. 1 upon its release, giving RiRi her 10th No. 1 and Spears her fifth.
Now, the new remix of "Till the World Ends" could prompt a jump into the top five of the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart next week. We'll know for sure when news of the new Hot 100 is revealed on May 4.
Industry prognosticators suggest that all versions of "Till The World Ends" (the original, the new "Femme Fatale" remix and its other assorted dance mixes) may sell around 210,000 or more by week's end on Sunday, May 1. That would secure its best sales frame yet, trumping the 158,000 it moved after its first full week on sale in March. Last week, the song shifted 122,000 downloads.
If the song earns as much radio airplay as it did this past week (around 72 million in audience), the song's combined point total could place it around Nos. 3-5 on the Hot 100 next week.
A No. 2 rank is conceivable -- as is of course, a long-shot chance at No. 1 -- but "Till the World Ends" faces stiff competition in the form of the current No. 1, Katy Perry's "E.T." (Not to mention the growing popularity of Adele's "Rolling in the Deep" and the Black Eyed Peas' "Just Can't Get Enough" -- which stand at Nos. 2 and 3, respectively, this week.)
If Spears' "Till the World Ends" reaches the top five, it will give her back-to-back studio albums with a pair of top five singles. Her 2008 "Circus" set spawned a No. 1 with "Womanizer" and a No. 3 hit with its title track. And her latest, "Femme Fatale," already saw its lead offering, "Hold It Against Me," debut at No. 1.
"Till the World Ends" has thus far peaked at No. 8 on the Hot 100. This week is declines 9-11, though with an overall gain in points.

"Till The World Ends" Remix
Britney Spears has called an impressive pop music summit by inviting Ke$ha and Nicki Minaj onto a remix of her latest "Femme Fatale" single, "Till the World Ends." The track leaked online late Friday (Apr. 22), before it was scheduled to be officially released next Monday, according to a countdown on all three pop singers' websites.
"Chimpanzees is hating, but I take it all in stride/Put her in a jungle with bananas on the side/Told you they'd revive your career, but somebody lied/I ain't talking poultry when I say this chicken's fried!" Minaj raps with a "Monster"-esque intensity to open the song. After Spears delivers the first verse, Minaj introduces Ke$ha, who sings the track's pre-chorus and mirrors Spears in other patches of the song. The final third of the song also features a nifty instrumental breakdown reminiscent of the dubstep interlude in "Femme Fatale's" first single, "Hold It Against Me."
Spears, Minaj and Ke$ha all teased the release of a remix to "Till the World Ends" -- currently at No. 9 on the Hot 100 -- in Twitter posts Friday afternoon. Minaj has been tapped to open for Spears on her summer tour beginning June 17, while Ke$ha originally co-wrote "Till the World Ends" alongside Max Martin, Lukasz "Dr. Luke" Gottwald, and Alexander Kronlund.
The "Till the World Ends" remix follows Spears' guest spot on a "Rih-mix" to Rihanna's single "S&M" that was released last Monday (Apr. 11). The new version of "S&M" helped the track land atop the Hot 100 with a combined 293,000 downloads, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

Rihanna & Britney "S&M" Remix
Britney Spears and Rihanna have teamed up for a raunchy remix of the latter's hit single, "S&M." The collaboration, which premiered today on New York radio station Z100, features the pop divas trading lines from the song's original chorus and an entirely new second verse by Spears.
"If I'm bad, tie me down," Spears coos, taking a cue from Rihanna's just-as-provocative original version of the song. "Shut me up, gag and bound me/'Cause the pain is my pleasure/Nothing comes better."
The "S&M" remix comes at a time when both Spears and Rihanna are riding high: Spears' new album"Femme Fatale" just debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, while Rihanna's original "S&M," which is perched at No. 2 on the Hot 100, just became her record-setting fifth consecutive No. 1 on Radio Songs (and eighth overall).
Spears and Rihanna acknowledged each other's hot streaks on Twitter just hours before the "S&M" remix dropped, with Rihanna telling Spears that she is "one of the biggest worldwide popstars! U gangsta #EPIC." Replied Spears, "You ain't so bad yourself honey."

Jive Records Press Release
Britney Spears' New Album 'Femme Fatale' Debuts No. 1. Spears Is The First Female Ever To Have Six Number One Album Debuts
New York, NY - This week Britney Spears triumphs with her newest album Femme Fatale (Jive Records) bowing at No. 1 on U.S. albums charts. The chart-topping entry makes Spears the first female ever to have six No. 1 album debuts, and marks the second biggest album debut of the year. The album also debuts at No. 1 in Canada, Australia and Korea and enters in the Top 10 in 15 other countries.
The release of Femme Fatale follows the recent video premiere of the apocalyptic club thumper and Top 10 hit, "Till The World Ends" on VEVO. The video is currently on heavy rotation on MTV, MTV Hits, MTV Tres and VH-1.
Additionally, Spears is earning accolades with Femme Fatale: Rolling Stone magazine gave the album 4 out 5 stars and claims that "Femme Fatale may be Britney's best album...". The Associated Press adds, "Spears once again sizzles, and her flame burns as bright as ever," and People magazine raves, "One of the best start-to-finish albums of her career..."
Femme Fatale is executive produced by longtime collaborators Max Martin and Dr. Luke. The iconic superstar, Britney Spears has sold nearly 70 million albums worldwide to date with her previous releases ...Baby One More Time (1999); Oops!... I Did It Again (2000); Britney (2001); In The Zone (2003); Blackout (2007); Circus (2008).

Femme Fatale Debuts At No. 1
Britney Spears flies in at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart with her sixth chart-topping album, "Femme Fatale," selling 276,000 copies in its first week according to Nielsen SoundScan. The feat ties her for the third-most No. 1s among women with Mariah Carey and Janet Jackson. Only Barbra Streisand (nine No. 1s) and Madonna (seven) have earned more No. 1s.
Spears has hit the top with six out of her seven studio albums, only missing with 2007's "Blackout," which debuted and peaked at No. 2 (290,000).
Her last effort, 2008's "Circus," started more robustly than "Femme Fatale," as it launched at No. 1 with 506,000 following its Dec. 2 release. "Femme Fatale's" debut of 276,000 is Spears' second-lowest sales start with a studio set -- only her 1999 debut effort, "Baby One More Time," began with a smaller figure (121,000 at No. 1).
Though, one could conclude that "Circus" was a more highly-anticipated album, in that it was seen as a "comeback" after a number of years where Spears' personal and professional life was in chaotic high-gear. "Circus" was ushered in by the No. 1 Billboard Hot 100 single "Womanizer" -- complete with a return-to-sexy-form music video.
"Femme Fatale," however, isn't a comeback album. There's nothing to come back from, aside from great success. Spears sold 1.7 million of "Circus" in the U.S., snared three top 20 Hot 100 singles from the set, and mounted a blockbuster global tour.
While "Femme Fatale's" first single, "Hold It Against Me," debuted at No. 1 on the Hot 100, it quickly peaked at No. 3 on the Mainstream Top 40 radio airplay chart -- Spears' home turf format on the airwaves. This week, it falls 19-26 in its 12th week on the list. The album's second single, "Till the World Ends," earns a bullet at No. 14 on the list, but stands still in its fourth week. To compare, "Womanizer" had climbed to No. 5 with a bullet when "Circus" debuted on the Billboard 200 -- and it reached No. 1 two weeks later.
Also worth noting is that "Femme Fatale" is Spears' first album to see a spring release in over a decade. While her first set dropped in January of 1999 and her second offering, 2000's "Oops! ... I Did It Again," came out in May of 2000, the rest of her catalog (even her hits packages and remix sets) were issued during the always-busy shopping period of November-December.
And, not like anyone needs to be reminded -- but album sales just aren't what they used to be. Even if it's been less than two-and-a-half years since "Circus."Source: Billboard.com

Britney Talks Filming New Video
Britney Spears took fans behind the scenes on her music video shoot for her second Femme Fatale single, "Till the World Ends," in her MTV special, "Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale.
The video was shot in a dank basement somewhere in Los Angeles. Spears and her dancers don rocking post-apocalyptic black clothing, with Spears dancing around in a studded black leather jacket and a sexy black bodysuit. In the special, Spears is seen watching the playback on the Ray Kay-directed video.
"[I watched it] just to make sure it's right and that the costume looks right and the dancers are together and we all look in unison," she explained. "It's an energy and it looks fresh. It has a certain vibe with it and it makes sense."
This marks nearly the 40th music video Spears has made in her career. And these days, she says she is just looking to have a good time. When asked if she feels she needs to top herself with every project, she responded, "Not really. I feel like I've made so many videos that I'm at the point that I genuinely want to enjoy myself, and I have such a good team of people with me ... we just have fun."
As much fun as shooting a video can be, it's also a lot of work. At one point during the making of "Till the World Ends," Spears wanted nothing more than a quick break. "The set was a little much. It was grimy and gross and it felt like there was poop everywhere when there wasn't," she recalled. "It was sweat and it was disgusting sometimes ... [I] tough it out," she laughed.
Another sticking point during the shoot was the discomfort Spears felt while dancing around in heels. "It hurts ... but it looks good," she said, adding that sometimes she changes into Uggs. "It wasn't a full-length shot, so a girl's about comfort when it's not showing."
At the end of the day though, the video was a lot more fun than work to shoot. "It was a lot of fun. I had never worked with Ray Kay before. I was really happy with the work we did," she said.
